O S A 7X is very powerful wetting and rewetting agent. It finds extensive use in textile processing operations, wherever problems of wetting are faced, particularly in dyeing and bleaching.

APPLICATION
O S A 7X is used in the following stages of textile manufacture :to

1.	In sizing baths for polyester and nylon to achieve better penetration. The concentration varies from 0.5g/l to 1 g/l. O S A 7X is used with enzymes.

2.	In enzyme desizing baths to increase penetration of enzyme liquor during padding. 0.5 gpl to 1 gpl is used along with enzyme.

3.	In one batch desizing, scouring and bleaching process for higher reed pick heavy fabrics such as Trousers etc and for Polyester/cotton blends. The cloth in this case is processed in open width on jiggers as per the following procedure :                          .  

(i) The grey material is run in hot water for two ends in the jigger           .

(ii) The cloth is further treated for 30 Minutes in 5 gpl enzyme and 3 gpl of O S A 7X at 70 C. If the solution is tertoid drain off the bath after this treatment                  

(iii) Treat with caustic soda 10 gpl at 70 Deg. C for 2 ends.
(iv) Add 15 gpl of Stabiliser HP and 25to30 gpl Hydrogen Peroxide (130 Volume) and raise the temperature to 80to85 Deg. C. The cloth should be treated in this bath for 1 hour. Squeeze and keep the roll covered with polythene sheet overnight. The cloth is then soaped and is ready for dyeing.
In this case of  polyester/cotton blends the peroxide strength is reduced to 10 gpl and in the case of mercerized unsoured fabric the concentration of caustic soda can be reduced to 3to5 gpl.

4.	For Rope boiling of grey fabrics in kiers the process of desizing can also be carried out simultaneously in the kiers with the help of O S A 7X and enzyme Liquid.

5.	In dyeing O S A 7X  is of immense value in the following dyeing process.

(i)   As penetrating agent in the pigment padding of the Vat dyestuff for the pad steam process.

(ii) In the dyeing of cotton felts with Direct Dyestuffs.

(iii) In the padding of Vat dyestuffs on mineral khaki or olive green shades where problem of penetration is more frequent.
In all cases, the concentration of 1to2 gpl of O S A 7X gives excellent results.
